Ashley Bojoy

Mixed Class Assistant

I am so excited to be working in a school with young children as an educator! I started working at LEAP in August 2023 as a teaching assistant. While this is my first time working in a classroom, I have always enjoyed spending time with children and have spent most of my life working with them! Throughout my teenage years I volunteered at the Museum of Life and Science summer camps,  where I got hands-on experience working with children in an organized setting. I have been babysitting since the age of 12 and still work as a part-time caregiver for young children when I am not at LEAP.  Working with children is something I love to do and am extremely passionate about. I am currently enrolled in college to earn an associate degree in child development. I decided to become an early childhood educator because I want to make a positive impact on young children’s lives by helping them learn and grow and prepare them for kindergarten. I am Mexican-American and am so happy to be able to teach in my home language and excited to be part of the “Nuestra Escuelita” team! When I am not working,  I love to travel and explore new places. I love spending time with family and friends. Some of my favorite hobbies are photography, dancing, and listening to music.

I hope to help foster this same confidence in other Latinx children. My educational background is in Psychology and Sociology and I do have many years of experience working with youth in a variety of settings. I believe this, combined with my personal experience raising my own children in a multicultural household, will help me to succeed with this goal.

I spend my free time at parks or hiking trails with my family and I love you read!
