Latino Educational Achievement Partnership (LEAP) empowers Durham children to achieve academic success by providing a high-quality, culturally affirming, dual-language preschool and ongoing support through 8th grade. Through strong relationships with families and a deep commitment to community care, LEAP ensures children grow in environments where their language, culture, and identity are valued.
Today, LEAP is also on a bold path toward the future. By 2028, we aim to become Durham Pre-K’s first dual-language program offering a free, full-day licensed preschool through Durham County’s universal Pre-K initiative. This transformation will strengthen long-term sustainability while expanding access to high-quality early education for Durham families. Along the way, we are investing in curriculum alignment, educator development, and improvements to our learning spaces and transportation so that more children can thrive. Regular donations from supporters like you make all of this possible. Your gift helps sustain LEAP’s programs today while building a stronger, more accessible future for Durham’s children and families.
Consider making an annual contribution or becoming a monthly donor to help our community grow, learn, and thrive.
COMMUNITY CRISIS RESPONSE

While we are building toward the future, many families in our community are navigating urgent challenges today. In moments of crisis, organizations like LEAP are essential, providing frontline support and connecting critical resources to our most vulnerable neighbors. This has proven true during COVID and recently when ICE showed up in Durham, forcing working parents to stay home leaving them unable to provide for their families. LEAP responded to ICE entering our community quickly: ensuring our preschoolers arrived at school safely, providing cash assistance to core families who were unable to work, and—together with our larger networks—delivering food assistance to more than 300 families across Durham. This work is only possible because of our deep relationships with those most impacted.

We invite you to become a sustaining donor so we can carry this work forward and be prepared for whatever comes next.
