& Our Vision
Research shows that children who attend high-quality preschool are more prepared for kindergarten and experience stronger long-term outcomes. At Nuestra Escuelita, our results reflect these findings. Using the Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment tool, we measure our students’ growth against peers nationwide. Even in a challenging year, our families continue to show up with resilience and care,strengthening our classrooms and community.
That same resilience fuels our vision for the future. LEAP is transitioning to a full-day, state-licensed Pre-K program and partnering locally to expand access to dual-language, high-quality childcare for working-class families. This next phase focuses on supporting educators, improving facilities and systems, and meeting critical community needs, ensuring every child and family has the opportunity to thrive.

When I first discovered LEAP, we were new to the state, and the idea of being able to enroll my daughter in a bilingual daycare—while paying only a nominal fee—seemed incredibly accessible to me. Our experience with LEAP was extremely positive; my little girl loves that school and her teachers (Miss Maria, Miss Odalis, and Miss Dalhia). I feel that LEAP helped her significantly with her social and emotional development, as well as with her language skills; she spoke only Spanish when she started, but she learned to speak English there.
I really appreciate the way they communicate with families; they foster a sense of trust, and whenever something needs to be corrected or improved, they address it in a respectful manner. I also admire their teaching methods, which truly captivate the children.
Unfortunately, my daughter was only able to attend LEAP for one year; however, it was an unforgettable experience for her—she says that LEAP will always be *her* school.
